The cratered world is one of the two planets on which a foundry can be
established (the other is Volcanic). Crater fields are convenient
bases in other sectors, as they can also support factories. Do not build a
resource colony on this type of planet unless you also intend to build a
foundry here. No empires are ever short of iron, and that is the only
resource provided here. Also, beware of the 'No Minerals Found' planets...
