I first downloaded StarKnights in November 1999 and I have been in love with the game since. Knowing
that SK was going to have some similar features that MK has, I thought it would be great to start an
alliance. At the time, the beta didn't support alliance play, but we all knew it would at some point.
Even at the early stages of StarKnights, I knew that it would grow into something great. I wanted to
be a part of that and try to add to the game as much as I could. That was when I decided to make this
web site. Since its conception it has undergone many changes as the alliance itself has.
The stories were the first idea. I felt that it could only add to the game. Embellish the history and
even embellish ourselves some too. Later we added other things such as the EZBoard, Member Stats, and
the TOP 10 list. Eventually the member stats page had to go. It became too time consuming to keep updated,
although it was a good idea. Even though the TOP 10 is time consuming, I think everyone likes this page
too much to get rid of. With that in mind, I'll try to update it as much as possible.
As our alliance grew larger we split into two groups. Originally we were just the Elder Alliance. But
once we split into two clans we renamed ourselves the Elder Council and the splinter clan became the
Elder Armada. At this early stage of the game there were maybe five or six active alliances with only
a few people in them. We had twice the number of members as the rest of the alliances, so splitting
the group into two clans was a great idea. Even after we split, we began to grow. More and more players
began playing StarKnights and we were bumping into newbies everywhere.
That was when we decided to create the Elder Initiates, or the Elder Academy, as I liked to call it
at the time. The purpose was to have a newbie enter for one month and learn some skills, individual and
allied. Then after the month was over, if he was pretty good, he could join the Armada or Council.
This worked well for only about two months, after that all of the members were too active to take time
to train the newbies. So for awhile we quit accepting members until things started falling into place.
During this period of our "inactivity" of acquiring new members, I created an unregistered alias,
StarKnight Enigma. With the help of Skyven and JSG19, I became the leader of the U.P.A., Unregistered
Players Alliance. It was those players of the U.P.A. that gave me back my motivation to keep helping the
new players. Unfortunately we didn't have a fancy change of command ceremony, but I handed over the reigns
of the U.P.A. and had Enigma take over as leader of the Elder Initiates.
And that brings us up to date. I'll add more as the history of our alliance unfolds. Thanks for letting
us be a part of the StarKnight experience. It's been great fun, and it will only get better.
