For quick communication in allied games and just for general fun, we now have a registered
channel on IRC (Internet Relay Chat). We can be found by connecting to a
StarChat server. Below are the server settings so
that you may find us.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with IRC, it is similar to the SK Chat client. You are able to join
"channels" and discuss the current topic of that channel. IRC is an unmoderated medium. Therefore,
on many servers, there are topics that are offensive. Because of this is why I chose StarChat for our server.
The StarChat server does not allow the types of offensive material that you find on most IRC servers.
There are many chat clients available that you can connect to IRC with. My personal favorite is mIRC. You
can download a free copy at http://www.mirc.com/.
mIRC and StarKnights work well together. I like to use the ALT + TAB to shift back and forth in allied
games. This keeps the opponents from seeing what you are typing and you can speak to more than one
alliance member at the same time. Much quicker than the current mail feature.
If you stop by the #Elder_Alliance and you can't get in, we may have the channel blocked because
we are in a session during an allied game. If that is the case, the join the #StarKnights channel
that is available for everyone.
